Romance Photos

This Photo is one that i took in the studio, i took this photo on a white background. The photo of the mountains is a photo of mine that i took a while ago whilst on holiday, i decided to blend these two photos together as i though they would look better this way and i thought it would look more realistic as one photo rather than having two separate photos. i like the colours i think they blend well together and i think the contrast also works well together.

this is also another photos that i originally took in the studio, i took the background as a separate photo then blended the two together, i like this use of colours because i think it makes it look more romantic and reflects my theme of romance more.

For this photo i cropped the models out of the original background, i though this way was harder as i had to be a lot more precise and it also took a lot longer. i also prefer the two photos above as well because even though they are not the clearest of photos they reflect my romantic theme more by being not exactly precise.

For this photo i used two models who i photographed in the studio, i then edited them and put them onto one of my backgrounds. i used the opacity tool to edit them in because i thought it looked neater this way even though it may not look as realistic.

For this photo i used the same process as i said above but i edited it using curves to create a whole in the middle as it looks like they are being surrounded by a hole of colour which i think looks very effective.

Possible Background Photos

These are all photographs that i took previously before i started the course, i thought i could use them in my photography to edit things onto them becasue i thought they would make a good background.

Work Record 2 Surrealism Experiments

Work Record 2 Surrealism Experiments

Plans For The Shoot
For this shoot my plan is to experiment with some surrealism. I will go into the studio and make my model lie on a chair like super man, i will experiment with different positions and see what looks the most effective. I don't want to use the studio as my background though, so i will also go out a take pictures some backgrounds around the college so i can edits my model and put her in a more effective background. I will edit her out so she will be flying and you wont be able to see the chair and make it look like she is flying through the sky. So to achieve this shoot i will need to use the studio, a stool, and then pictures of the college.

What I Hope To Achieve
I hope to achieve a photo of my model flying through the sky, and also se how i can edit it to make it look more effective.

What I Actually Achieved

I achieved this photo as one of my surreal experiments, i really like this photo because i like how she is flying over the building. i like how most of the picture is dark, and then the model is light flying through the sky, i also like how the windows on the building are light too because they make the photo look more attractive.
I also like how there are movement lines on the model as it makes it look like she is moving really quickly which was the effect i was going for.

This photo is my favourite photo out of the two photos i took. i really like this one because i think it looks more realistic.  I also really like the background, i like how its lots of bright colours. for this photo i duplicated the layer into three then faded them out to make it look like she was moving through the sky. i also like how there is a beam of light coming down in the corner as it looks like the light is shining through onto her.

Idea Development For my next shoot i have decided to move onto the topic of romance and love. i will get photos to express my theme of romance. i also want to try do some stuff with my shoe laces to show the theme of love can be through different things rather than just 2 people.

Work Record 1

Work Record 1                                                                            14/11/12

Plans for the shoot
For my first developmental shoot I am going to explore the topic of emotions, using a model I will shoot all sorts of different emotions in the studio so I can explore each one. I will not use any particular emotion as I want to explore all different ones and what effects they have.
The things I will use are
·      Lighting and Colours, I will use this to express different emotions, so I will use light and dark colour's depending on the mood.
·      I will use facial expressions to create a different mood
·      Shape, I will use different shapes of the body to create a different mood, so for example curled up to show sadness.

What I hope to achieve
I hope to achieve a wide range of different moods with lots of different photos, so I can then pick my favourites and develop around them.  I hope to achieve different effects and experiment with all different things so I can explore the emotions widely.

What i actually achieved

I achieved this photo for my theme of depression. I think this shows depression really well due to the colours and the tone of the photo, i think my photo looks better in a black and white tone rather than a colour as i think this expresses the depression emotion more in black and white. i also like that it is more darker around the eyes as it mean you can't see them as much which shows the theme of depression a lot more. i also think the background works well in the photo as by the background being blank it shows loneliness as well which links in with depression and being all alone. i also like the contrast of colours in this photo, i think they work really well together and help to create the mood of depressed.

I also like this photo, the theme is angry and madness. I think this photo shows anger really well due to the colours in the photo, by the background being red it link with anger as red connotes anger so it link well with my photo. i also like the positioning of my model s this reflects the mood, i think the lighting works really well in this photo as well because it showed highlights and low lights of her facial expression which was what i was trying to achieve. i think the positioning of my model in this photo is good too because i like how she is on the floor because this reflects her mood more rather than standing up.

What i will do next time
Next time i go out to shoot, i will develop my shoot to the theme of portraits and depression, i hope to take photos outside and find a good scenery for my shoot as i think this will help me reflect the mood i am trying to achieve. I will experiment with different backgrounds in order to create a different effect on my photos, this is a photo i found online, it reflects the mood of depression really well, i think this photo looks so effective due to the colours and the background. i think the blue, red and black are all colours that connote depression so i think this photo look really well all in all. When i go out to shoot my next shoot i will try and take photos like this because i think they look very effective.
